Grandpa's Visit #1

Grandpa John (Stacy's dad) was able to come out for about 8 days of fun this month. The boys were SO excited about it and when I started talking to them about it more, a couple weeks before he arrived, Hudson's first remark was "Grandpa's gonna tickle me!" He said it with the slyest little grin too, it was so precious. They haven't seen him since last November in Vancouver, so they were excited to get their  tickles and grandpa fun.

Poor grandpa had quite the adventure getting here, with his not fully healed broken leg and hauling all sorts of goodies for us. We owe him big time for being our pack mule (he chose the name) even with a gimpy leg. The biggest excitement was over the two sided art easel he brought them. The boys LOVE it and played with it all week. I think it will be a new daily favorite. I'm sure it will come in handy for homeschooling too.

Grandpa had a quick introduction to the Delhi belly so we rested mostly the first couple days. Partly because of that early sickness and partly because of his aversion to tumeric, he only had maybe 3 Indian meals the whole week. He wasn't a fan to say the least, which didn't bother us too much because that meant we got treated to all the best western food in town the whole week :) But even still, he was a big tired of chicken by the end of the week and craving something beefier. (Aren't we all?)

How Grandpa spent the first couple days recovering from his "Dung" fever

He was a bit afraid of anything yellow after this meal. It's one of our favorites  though and a staple here: Dal, rice, Chapati, and aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower)

One of our many icecream indulgences. This one was the most ridiculous and delicious!

Proof that they are two peas in a pod.

More proof! Look at those matching expressions.

It's too scary how similar they are!

Hudson was in Ice cream Heaven all week long! He's all for making ice cream and chocolate a daily staple.
